The 2025 Elections Are Here!

Participating in the 2025 elections as a candidate or a voter is your chance to help shape the future of your school community, so it's important to get involved and make your voice heard. While the application period has closed, the campaign season is in full swing. Candidates will be campaigning throughout April, and voting will take place from late April through May 13. Stay tuned for updates as these key dates approach. In the meantime, explore candidate profiles and forums to learn more about those running.

The Candidate Forums is your chance to join the candidates via Zoom as they share their experience and talk about why they are running for education councils. You can also explore Candidate Profiles, which include statements from all candidates about their vision and goals.

And the Winners Are!

The results of the 2025 CEC Election will be reported in June. Members-elect take office July 1st.

Members-elect Take Office

July 1st, 2025 to June 30th, 2027

Council members serve a 2 year term beginning on July 1st, 2025. Their term ends June 30th, 2027. To view the current members visit the Community and Citywide Education Council pages.

NYC Schools Account

Ensure you are signed up for a New York City School Account (NYCSA) which is necessary to run for a seat and vote. Learn more about how to create an account in our setup guide or visit NYCSA homepage.

Apply for a Vacant Seat

If you are interested in applying for vacant seat please visit the Community Education Councils and the Citywide Education Council sections and check for any vacancies. Once you find a vacancy you’re interested in you can fill out a Vacancy Application Form.
