Update, November 2024: New York City Public Schools has zero tolerance for hate, bigotry, or racism of any kind. Recently, individuals across the country—including some NYCPS students—have received appalling text messages from anonymous numbers with vile and racist language. In collaboration with the NYPD, we are taking swift action to respond to these incidents. We are also providing mental health and safety supports to impacted individuals as needed. Hate has no home in our schools, and the safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority. If you or someone you know has been the target of these text messages, please report it immediately to the NYPD by calling 911. Please also contact your principal for mental health and/or safety support.
