POSITION:
Centrally Funded Attendance Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a full-time position with a start date of September 2, 2025. The work year is a 10 (ten)-month period, starting from September 2, 2025 through June 30th 2026. As part of the superintendent’s team, the superintendent of designee will be your immediate supervisor, provide day-to-day support and direction and assign a workspace in a district office; a school in the district in which you support in the district.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
New York City Public Schools licensed Attendance Teacher
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Ability to work with parents and chronically absent students
- Ability to conduct outreach visits to homes
- Ability to work with ATS, and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to generate and use data to improve attendance in schools
- Ability to create attendance and intervention plans for chronically absent students
DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct telephone outreach to home of absent students
- Make home visits as assigned in the five (5) boroughs
- Document all outreach as assigned, complete all program paperwork as directed including ATS entries and ILOG
- Work collaboratively with school staff in identifying and addressing the needs of chronically absent students
- Work collaboratively with central staff and identifying and addressing the needs of chronically absent students
SALARY:
As per UFT Collective Bargaining Agreement
HOURS/WORK YEAR:
Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:50 p.m.,
Inclusive of half-hour lunch
