The 2023 CCEC Elections are over.
Thank you to all the parents who participated, either by applying to run or voting for candidates, the important thing is you all participated.

Even though the election is over those who did not win or any parents who qualify, have two ways in which they might still be able to serve on a council. One way is to check the “Available Council Seats” page for any vacancies on the councils. Another is to reach out to your Borough President about serving as a BP Appointed member of a council. What do the education councils have to do with me?
Parent participation in the Community and Citywide Education Councils directly affects your school. It’s a fact! Councils offer a platform for parents to demand action and accountability from the DOE.
They hold community town halls with the chancellor, advise on capital plan funding (does your school need a new gym or science lab?) and approve zoning changes that can radically affect your district’s neighborhoods.

We still encourage you to sign up for a NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) account to keep track of the progress of your children, and access important resources like Parent U, that offers free courses, resources, to educate and empower families as partners in their student's education.
If you do not have a NYCSA, or need to add children to an existing account, please contact your parent coordinator or principal for assistance.
